Therapy

• Manual lymphatic drainage.
• Compression therapy (banding or compression knitwear).
• Decongestant therapeutic gymnastics and sports.
• Skin care for the prevention of erysipelas.
• Teaching patients the methods of treatment at home.

The CFPO method consists of 2 phases:

• Treatment in the hospital to reduce lymphatic edema: manual therapy, the use of a compression bandage, skin care, decongestant sports complex procedures.
• Outpatient treatment as a supportive therapy. Its goal is to preserve the result of treatment achieved in the first phase. Patients are prescribed manual lymphatic drainage, wearing compression knitwear, skin hygiene procedures, gymnastics and sports.

• Removal of the lymphatic fistula.
• Removal of lymphangiomas.
• Correction of the genitals.
• Transplantation of lymphocollectors according to Baumeister.

The staff of the surgical Department uses many methods of therapy developed on the basis of the University clinic of Freiburg, which makes it possible to effectively treat patients with the acute phase of the disease, provide rehabilitation and outpatient services.

Treatment of chronic wounds

Specialists of the Department treat wounds as concomitant diseases of lymphedema, in accordance with the standards of German and European professional societies: the German society for wound healing, the European Association of management of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
